Recently someone gave us a Melissa and Doug Caterpillar Grasping Toy
and my daughter loves it! I had seen them advertised for blind children, but didn't understand how it worked. It basically has a stretchy cord running through it, and so you can twist and turn the segments to make the caterpillar different shapes. It's almost like an action figure for preschoolers! They also make a dinosaur, giraffe and some fishies.
I also bought the Deluxe Latches Board
. This is still much too hard for her, but she loves the one at our library, and I thought it would be great for fine motor skills. It was
